The Noosa Everglades are far more than just a single river or kayaking location. They form part of a vast interconnected landscape of waterways, wetlands, forests, beaches, lakes, rainforest, dunes, hinterland, and coastal ecosystems that make up the UNESCO-listed Noosa Biosphere Reserve.
The broader Noosa Everglades system stretches across approximately 85,000 hectares of waterways and catchment landscapes, linking remote upper river systems through to Lake Cootharaba, Lake Weyba, the Noosa River, coastal wetlands, beaches, and the Pacific Ocean.
What makes the region so unique is the incredible variety packed into a relatively small area. Within a single day you can move through subtropical rainforest, mirror-like waterways, paperbark wetlands, ancient dune systems, rolling farmland, mountain lookouts, coastal estuaries, and ocean beaches, all connected as part of the same internationally recognised biosphere landscape.
